More Than You'll Ever Know...

As time gets closer to the day there is so much more fun with the wedding planning. We are so pleased to have been blessed with dear friends and loved ones who will share our day and such a wonderful future ahead. We praise our Lord for the blessings we have been given. He is a good God and all glory should and does go to Him! This weekend Jon and I get to go to one of several out of town events with close friends from within our wedding party. It is such a pleasure to have made such solid friends over the years and that most all of these are in our wedding party. These friends are the kind who will never forsake you (intentionally, of course); who will never stop giving; and who are always going to be good friends. We are so thankful for these kinds of friends. Anyway- I just wanted to give a great thank you to all of our wedding party attendants and their kind friendships to us. All of you are special in your own unique way to us and have dramatically impacted our lives. We would not have chosen you otherwise and we thank you for witnessing and sharing in our day of celebration. You are dear and we love you.

Anticipation

Some have said that when it comes to doing something enjoyable, the best part is the moment JUST BEFORE the act occurs. That's when you're full of anticipation, excited to know that something wonderful is about to happen. Well, I agree in part and disagree in part.

On the one hand, anticipation is nice. Tonight I will fly down to South Carolina to see Amy. I'm practically bouncing around the office! Why is that clock so SLOW??? Is it time to leave yet? I'm packed already! I mean, it's kind of hard to get any work done.

On the other hand, I love the moment when Amy appears at the airport. Last time I flew down there, it was all I could do not to RUN to find her. (I was a little concerned, though, that security would consider this suspicious behavior, so I just walked quickly instead.) That moment of pure joy upon seeing her is such a wonderful rush.

So given my choice, I'll have my cake and eat it too: I'll like both the anticipation AND the moment itself. Now if only I could get rid of that pesky problem of having to leave her at the end of the weekend... Guess I have to wait (with great anticipation) for November to get here. (Hurry up!)
...
By the way, our parents are meeting each other for the first time this weekend. I don't expect anything out of Meet the Fockers. But it'll be an interesting time, I'm sure. :-) Stay tuned!

As Everyone Says...

weddings are busy.

I always thought people were joking when they said it is busy with planning a wedding. No joke. It is busy. I have a full time job and am having to go to part-time just to get the planning complete... and we are keeping it simple. Seriously. Amazing how much energy it can drain from you. Not that I'm complaining about me and Jon. Thankfully, that area is wonderful and oftentimes makes me question how in the world did weddings turn out to be such an elaborate display. So heads up we are cutting out a few things. To name a few: no tossing of an extra bouquet or throwing of the garder. No extra decorations for the church including at present... no flowers. And no favors. They are just one added thing to think about that does not contribute to our vows or the value of the day. But I will say that I am pleased with a delicious looking wedding cake as well as a friend who voluteered to make chocolate cupcakes... Yum! We have our last counseling on Saturday and thankfully have enough patience to wait until the wedding date to actually to be wed vs eloping. But I can see why many people do.

We appreciate any prayers in regard to this and also to our packing my items to move the 2,000 mile trek.

Despite all of these concerns, we are so happy and looking forward to being married! We also look forward to the Big Day as it approaches and seeing you all there!

Our New Home (Second-Floor Condo)

We have contruction still going on downstairs on the rock wall. The house was built in about 1900 and has obviously had some alterations (a dance studio and bike shop are now downstairs), but the inside is brand new except the hardwood floors -- all 1300 sq ft of it!! Other home pics to follow.

To Start...

You guys may be wondering about why these links are on our webpage. Here is a brief explanation.

Links:
1) Discovery Place: is one of my favorite learning spots for children, and since our desire is to have a lot of children (9-10!), we may have to get year-round passes to a place such as this. In the meantime, take your children there. They will love it, they will learn, and they will probably boost a grade or two in school.

2)Boesendorfer: is the piano I played on in high school at my professor's house (Dr. Bolen - Doctorate in Piano, Florida State University). It is known as one of the best pianos in the world and though it's not like my Yamaha (tongue in cheek), it did all right while I was in school. It's here as a "favorites" link.

3/4) Church Creek and Woodruff Road: are phenomenal PCA churches in Charleston, SC, and Greenville, SC. Woodruff Road is where our wedding will be.

5)Great Site: is a wonderful biblical teaching site on translation and history of the Bible. Both Jon and I have studied Bible translation. And while I haven't taken Greek yet, it is my desire to continue to disciple other girls in Bible-study techniques and methods, as well I totally respect Jon for already having had learned much about language and translation of the Bible so far. He is a great leader!!

6) Eepy Bird: is a silly and yet hysterical site that my brother Brad told me about to get a clean/fun laugh. Hope you enjoy it also... just don't drink Diet Coke and eat Mentos at the same time. :)

**By the way, you can click on the pictures on the right sidebar to see more of our own pics at this time. We will have more pics and posts soon. Have fun in the meantime!

From the Desk of Jonathan:

Hello, everybody! We've finally got this website up and running! We'll use it in future posts to keep you updated on the progress of the wedding preparations and also to tell you how things are going in Greer and Newport. We both love photography, too, so keep your eye out for pictures as well.

Thanks for stopping by today, and we'll talk to you soon. :-)
